DAYTONA BEACH, Florida (September 19, 2024) – One of the biggest and perhaps most impactful event schedules in the nearly 50-year history of Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) was unveiled today by HSR series officials heading into this weekend’s annual HSR Fall Historics event at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

The 2025 schedule of HSR sprint and endurance race series and championships has been expanded to seven race weekend events. Among other highlights are the all-new HSR Classic Endurance Championship and the introduction of the HSR Classic 10 Hour at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, which joins the existing HSR Classic tribute races at Daytona International Speedway, Sebring International Raceway and Watkins Glen International in the new four-event Classic Endurance Championship.

A major and long overdue schedule realignment will see half of the HSR Classic Endurance races – the HSR Classic Sebring 12 Hour and the HSR Classic 6 Hour at The Glen – paired up with and preceding the contemporary runnings of the legendary sports car races they pay tribute to each year.

The HSR Classic Sebring 12 Hour, which has annually wrapped up the calendar in December, now makes a major move to March at Sebring International Raceway to become the new HSR season-opening event, March 7 – 9. Even better, the Classic Sebring 12 Hour takes place the weekend before the 73rd Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring IMSA race, March 12 – 15.

The HSR Classic 6 Hour in turn sets the stage on June 12 – 14 for the following weekend’s IMSA Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, June 19 – 22.

The Classic Sebring 12 Hour opener will be followed by the 47th running of HSR’s The Mitty at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, April 25 – 27. The oldest and perhaps most revered HSR race, the traditional featured Run Group of the 47th Mitty will be announced in the near future.

“We always strive to deliver the best possible vintage and historic racing experience to our loyal fans and dedicated competitors, but to finally have the chance for the first time to pair up HSR with modern racing on consecutive weekends now delivers the ultimate motorsports experience for all,” said HSR President Chris Ward. “The Sebring and Watkins Glen double weekends are immediate must attend spectacles for all. We are also delighted to welcome the Classic 10 Hour at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta to the HSR Classic family, and along with the HSR Classic Daytona 24, we couldn’t ask for four better and legendary venues and races to launch the new HSR Classic Endurance Championship.”

The third major event to start the season, the Classic 6 Hour at The Glen follows the Sebring and Mitty openers before a bit of summer break in the full-season championship schedule.

The action resumes at VIRginia International Raceway, September 5 – 7, for HSR’s second-straight recent appearance at VIR after returning to the Southern Virginia venue this year.

Next up is the HSR Classic 10 Hour at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta , September 25 – 28, which carries on the tradition of this weekend’s Fall Historics while being moved later in the year to be closer on the calendar to IMSA’s season-ending Motul Petit Le Mans, October 8 – 11.

The HSR Classic Daytona 24 Hour runs for the 11th time next year, November 5 – 9 while a more than familiar venue closes the season at month later. The fan favorite, Pistons and Props event, December 5 – 7, continues HSR’s established tradition of ending and starting the season at Sebring International Raceway.

The HSR Classics events at Sebring, The Glen and Daytona share the card each weekend, respectively, with the Sebring Historics, The Glen Historics and the Daytona Historics while the Fall Historics continues at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta alongside the new Classic 10 Hour. All four races are all key rounds of the season-long HSR series championships.
